R Whalley (Teacher)

Hello, my name is Miss Whalley. I have been teaching for a number of years now and I have taught in different counties across the country. Some of my favourite subjects to teach in school are history, art and DT! Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring different places on walks and I love to ski when I get the opportunity. Swimming with dolphins in Jamaica is definitely a memory I will never forget.

Hello, I’m Miss Spencer and it’s my first year teaching at Stanah! I have been teaching for over 10 years, in both Primary and Secondary schools, and absolutely love working with children. It is an extremely fulfilling role watching children make progress over the year, supporting them to reach their full potential and become inspired to be lifelong learners! I am currently in Year 6 and one of the school leads for maths. I have a passion for P.E and art and outside of school I love spending time with my friends and family, going on holidays and walking in the Lake District (when the sun is shining!)

Art: We have been developing our art skills through looking at shape, line and tone.
PE: “Using the apparatus in PE is fun. It gives you the chance to explore balances better and in a more challenging way.”

Science: Children have a range of different opportunities to build on their scientific knowledge for example practical activities, observing asking questions and collaborating.

Computing: We used excel to plan the costings of an end of year party. This involved creating formulas which we found most interesting!

World Environmental Day: Our focus was on deforestation. We retrieved what we already knew and then built on our prior knowledge through looking at rainforest tribes and the impact deforestation has

In PSHE for World Kindness Day, we learnt sign language for phrases which involve using our manners.

Maths lead learning: explaining to others how to be successful with a method.
