Montgomery Remembrance Service

Montgomery Remembrance Service- Today, the School Guardians, House Captains and a rep of Year 6 were invited to attend a Remembrance Service at Montgomery High School. The two guardians, Belle and Will, read out their speeches on ‘What is a Hero?’ The audience loved them and a few of them even shed a tear (Mr Clough and Mrs Twist especially!) During our time at Montgomery, we got to share our work with the older generation, look at their artefacts and memories that had been dug up from World War 1. We also listened and showed respect whilst the Last Post was played and the Union flag was placed at half mast. Some of the students at Montgomery volunteered themselves to perform a presentation, one girl decided to sing a song called Bring Me Home which brought back lots of memories. Overall, our time there was amazing and from our discussions with members of the community, we have all learnt a great deal about World War 1.
